Beyond Academics

Bala Vinayaka Vidyaniketan was founded in the year 1985 by the Founder Chairperson Smt. Kamala Selvaraj with only one student to full fill her passion for Teaching and Education.

We believe that education should focus on students’ overall development, rather than restricting them to the classroom. Co – scholastic activities at BVV are given equal importance which includes a range of Literary Activities, Sports, House Visions & Self – Governance Day helping them develop leadership, communication and inter personal skills which are vital for the 21st century.

House Visions

The students are divided in to six houses and each house is given two visions for each academic year. One related to skill development and the other related to community service.

Leadership Development

Self – Governance Day is observed on the 5th of September every year. Students take over the administration of the school including teaching for half a day. The Student Principal takes charge in the morning assembly and the student teachers of Grade 10 take classes for their juniors according to the specially designed timetable.

Student Council

Student Council consists of School Pupil Leader, Asst. School Pupil Leaders, Secretaries, Asst. Secretaries & Volunteers. The SPL and ASPL are elected directly by the students. We are widely appreciated for the systematic election, which is conducted in lines with General election for the parliament. The teachers nominate the Secretaries and Asst. Secretaries of the various departments. They all take oath of office during the investiture ceremony.

These office bearers are in charge of various departments like Sports, Cultural Activities, Music, Audio Visual, Magazine and all the 6 houses. They all work under the guidance of the mentors of their respective departments.

Nature Classroom

A special environment for teaching and learning amidst nature presents the students with captivating sights that stimulate all the senses and increase their capacity to take in and turn new information in to knowledge.
